This talk is a part of the Thinking in the Box: Let's Make Comics! program series. This talk is intended for teen and adult audiences.

Sarah Shaw is a cartoonist, illustrator, and professor at Maine College of Art & Design. Always on the search for a good story, she typically makes comics and zines about daily life, travel, and history. Originally from Southern Maine, she spent ten years teaching abroad in Korea, Colombia, and Nepal, and two years in Boston, before moving back to Maine in 2022. She can often be seen tabling her work at indie comics conventions, hiking, running, and sketching outdoors.

Sarah will be talking about the power of lived experiences, the comic-making process and self publishing with 15 minutes for questions and answers at the end.
