To borrow an item APL does not own:
Online Requests
The APL/Maine InfoNet library catalog now allows patrons to search for materials owned, not only by Auburn Public Library, but also by many other libraries in the state of Maine. So, if APL doesn't own the item you are looking for, you may still be able to find the item in the library catalog and request it online for pick-up at Auburn Public Library.
For more information about requesting items through the library catalog, please see About the Catalog's "Request" Button.
If an item is not available for online request through the APL/Maine InfoNet library catalog, you may ask us to borrow the item for you via interlibrary loan. To place an interlibrary loan request, please call us at 333-6640 x2, email us at aplill@auburnpubliclibrary.org, or visit us at the APL circulation desk. A $2.00 charge per item (effective 09/01/02) defrays postage costs.
For more information about interlibrary loans, please see our interlibrary loan service guidelines.
To request a genealogy or local history search:
The Library offers limited searching of some genealogy and local history materials for those who are unable to visit the library. Please see our search services guidelines for details.
