Your Gift Makes a Difference!

Libraries are one of the most important resources for any community. They provide free access to information and services that enrich lives and increase literacy; they give children the chance to learn to read, explore their world and be independent; and they give adults the resources for lifelong learning and life changes.

Why does the Auburn Public Library need my gift?

The Auburn Public Library is committed to providing free access to books, materials and services that help our community enrich their lives. Your support is critical to help make sure our collection and programs are up-to-date and available to everyone who needs them..

How are my gifts used?

A gift to the Auburn Public Library Fund is an unrestricted contribution and goes immediately to where it is needed most in the given year. Gifts to the APL Fund are used to purchase books, to provide an ever-increasing array of programs and workshops, and to meet the Library’s immediate needs. It is important to note that gifts to the APL Fund are spent in the year that they are received.

Is a gift to the APL Fund tax deductable?

The Auburn Public Library is an independent, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. As such, all gifts to the Auburn Public Library are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

What is the APL Fund’s “year”?

At the Auburn Public Library, the fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 of each year.

What were the APL Fund’s year-end results?

In fiscal year 2009-2010, The APL Fund raised more than $50,000 to support the services and programs of the Auburn Public Library. This includes gifts from our annual fundraising drive, special events (our English Tea and used Book Sales) and grants from corporations, foundations and community organizations.
