Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 by Richard Paul Evans

A book review by Faith Thompson

It was just a day like any other for Michael Vey when he discovered that he wasn’t the only one with strange electric powers. Taylor, the gorgeous cheerleader from school, has them too, and their genius friend Ostin is eager to help them learn to optimize these powers.

But when Michael’s mom takes them to a pizza place to celebrate Michael’s birthday, she is kidnapped by a mysterious man with a couple more kids with similar powers to Michael’s. Suddenly Taylor is missing too. It’s up to Michael, Ostin, and a couple of bullies from school, the only ones who will give them a ride, to investigate the kidnappings and save them – but it may be a trap.

Someone is after Michael and Taylor’s powers, and it will take everything they’ve got to escape.
