FIC Fiction section (shelved in order by authors' last names)
JUV Children's section (fiction, nonfiction, reference, audiovisual, etc. shelved separately within the children's area; see the children's staff for help)
YA Young Adult section (fiction, graphic novels, genre paperbacks - biography, classics, fantasy, etc. - shelved separately within the young adult area; see the reference staff for help)
REF Reference collection
CAGE Local History and Genealogy collection
REF RDY Ready Reference (these are part of the reference collection; ask the reference librarian)
OVERSIZE Too big to fit on the regular shelves; located in the oversize section
PER Periodical (a magazine or newspaper; most of these may be checked out, except new issues on display in plastic binders)
ON ORDER Has been ordered but not been received or processed (these items may be placed on hold by using the "Request" button)
PBK Paperback section (fantasy, horror, mystery, suspense, science fiction, and westerns are all shelved separately withing this section)
ANR Adult New Reader section
DVD DVD Movies
CD Music Compact Discs

Items that begin with a regular call number (such as BL 624, or T 330, or HQ 1421) without one of these abbreviations are adult nonfiction materials and are shelved in the adult nonfiction section.
