A book review by Faith Thompson
Maurice is a cat. He has a group of rats — talking, intelligent rats — that do his bidding because he pays them. They make money by doing a fake Pied Piper act, complete with a stupid-looking kid named Keith to play the pipe. The rats are tired of the act, so the town called Bad Blintz will be the last one.
But Bad Blintz is no ordinary town. There is something evil lurking in the tunnels under the town — something that talks into your head, something that is stealing all of the food from the people who live there. It’s up to Maurice, the rats (especially Peaches, Darktan, and Dangerous Beans), the kid named Keith, and the mayor’s daughter Malicia to solve the mystery and save Bad Blintz from crippling famine.
