Teens! Pizza & Pages Club starts July 10

Teens!  This summer, our Pizza & Pages Book Club meets our Great Stories Club!  During the month of July, we will get together to read and discuss four books in the Great Stories Club series “What Makes A Hero? Self, Society, and Rising to the Occasion.”  Sign up for 1, 2, 3 or all 4 books!  Participating teens will get to keep copies of each book read to add to their personal collection.

The schedule is as follows:

  • Wednesday, July 10 — March (Book 3) by John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell (book available after June 25th)
  • Wednesday, July 17 — Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet, book one by Ta-Nehisi Coates & Brian Stelfreeze (book available July 10th)
  • Wednesday, July 24 — Maus II: A Survivor’s Tale, And Here My Troubles Began by Art Spiegelman (book available July 17th)
  • Wednesday, July 31 — Binti by Nnedi Okorafor (book available July 24th)

This program is presented by the Auburn Public Library and the Boys & Girls Club (Auburn/Lewiston Clubhouse) for teens in grades 8-12.  Books are provided through a grant from the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities; pizza is provided by our local Domino’s.
