The Birds are Coming, April 23

The Auburn Public Library and the Stanton Bird Club  are partnering to celebrate the International Year of the Bird with a number of informational and fun programs.  This is a special partnership in that the Stanton Bird Club is also beginning its centennial celebration!

On April 23rd veteran bird watcher Tom Hayward will present a program at 6:00 p.m. entitled “The Birds Are Coming!” a look at what birds are returning to Maine this time of year and ways to make them feel welcome.

On May 5th, volunteers from the Stanton Bird Club will host a program for 6- to 12-year olds, “Bird’s Eye View.”  There will be fun hands-on activities to learn all about birds – nests, pecking for food, and more.  Programs will continue throughout the Summer and Fall, including “lunch and learns,” bird watching, and author visits.
