The Shepherd’s Crown by Terry Pratchett

A book review by Faith Thompson

Tiffany is nearly a woman now. She’s seventeen and ready to take on her own steading — or district — to which she provides poverty relief. The Nac Mac Feegle are behaving themselves, finally, and she has a wonderful boyfriend named Preston.

But then things start to fall apart. Granny Weatherwax is old now and will die very soon. None of the witches are quite certain what to do without her, and they don’t know if they are capable of protecting Discworld without her guidance. And the gate into the Fairy Kingdom that Tiffany entered at the age of 9 to rescue her brother is glowing again.

The elves want revenge.
