FAFSA talk and workshop, Oct. 30

College Financing and the FAFSA (for Teens & Parents) October 30, 5:30-6:30

Are you ready to pay for college? In this session, as a follow up to our College Night (October 19), we’ll help you better understand the financial aid process and prepare you to complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). We’ll also look at ways to add to your college savings and key strategies to minimize the cost of college. Leave with many practical tools and resources to help you best prepare. This program is presented by Jessica Whittier, who is a College Access Counselor at the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME) with 16 years of experience helping students navigate their path to college.  Although designed for teens and their parents, anyone who is thinking about financing their continuing education is welcome to attend this helpful and informative program!  Registration is requested and appreciated so that we have enough handouts for all attending.  Please register online here or call the Reference Desk at 333-6640, ext. 4.

Following the Financial Aid presentation in the Androscoggin Community Room, participants will move upstairs to the Computer Lab for some hands-on instruction for completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  This program will be led by a representative from the Finance Authority of Maine (FAME).  Registration is required as space is limited to 12. Please register online here or call the Reference Desk at 333-6640, ext. 4.
