Event Details

Join the Auburn Public Library, Auburn Public Health, and Healthy Androscoggin this winter for a powerful community book read of Healing a Village: A Practical Guide to Building Recovery Ready Communities by Mark Lefebvre.  This insightful guide offers actionable strategies and inspiring stories designed to equip professionals working in prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery with the tools needed to foster resilient, supportive communities.  Whether you're on the frontlines of addiction services or a community leader striving for change, this event provides a valuable opportunity to connect, collaborate, and learn how to build systems that truly support recovery.  Let's come together to strengthen our village -- one conversation at a time.

This reading and discussion group will meet biweekly, via Zoom, from 4-5 p.m. on the following Thursdays:  January 29, February 12, February 26, and March 12.  Please register below, and be sure to provide your email when registering.  Registrants will receive an email with the Zoom link and a detailed program description on January 2.  Books will be available for pick up at the Auburn Public Library Lending Desk on or after January 2 for those who have registered.

Books have been generously provided by the State of Maine's Office of Behavioral Health to the first 20 registered participants.  The books have also been signed by the author, who will be joining us for a Q&A at the last session on March 12.
