The library currently offers three adult book groups which are  open to the public, customers may join at any time.

We also offer rotating book discussions throughout the year which are available for registration on our events calendar.   

APL Monday Book Group

The Monday Book Group meets on the second Monday of the month, with adjustments for holidays. Please join us for a casual discussion, new members are welcome! 

APL Friday Book Group

This book group meets the third Friday of the month in the Conference Room located on the ground floor.

APL Mystery Book Group

Do you know who did it? Enjoy trying to figure it out? We do too!  Join us as we discuss the thrills of a good mystery. These meetings center around a series, author, or theme. Bring your ideas to share!

APL is proud to partner with Maine Humanities Council, the Maine State Library, and Maine Writer's & Publishers Alliance in participating in Read ME, a statewide summer reading experience. 

For 2023, recommending author Colin Woodard has selected Lungfish by Meghan Gilliss and Night of the Living Rez by Morgan Talty.
