This talk will explore the industrial legacies through a look at the history of three extant Auburn buildings:  Phoenix Block, Roak Block, and Barker Mill -- and Jacob Roak's role in their establishment.

This talk will be presented by Lin Wright.  Lin is a genealogist and historian who enjoys researching people and using their lives to illustrate the larger stories of different times and places.  Lin earned an MA in American and New England Studies from University of Southern Maine and holds a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.  She currently teaches on genealogical subjects at LA Senior College, serves on the Senior College Board, is President of the Asbury Grove Historical Society, and is her church's historian.

This presentation, part of a series entitled "Senior College in the Community" is made possible by a partnership with Senior College at USM Lewiston-Auburn College.  Lewiston-Auburn Senior College has a longstanding relationship with community partners.  In addition to this program, Senior College offers in person, Zoom, and hybrid enrichment classes.  For more information about Senior College, visit usm.maine.edu/seniorcollege.
