There has been a growing movement to use native plants in our ornamental gardens. This class will discuss what native plants are, why we should grow them, how to choose suitable native plants for our gardens, and where to buy them.

Jean has been gardening in Poland, Maine for more than twenty years. She holds a Certificate in Native Plants and Ecological Horticulture from the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, is a former Maine Master Gardener Volunteer, and writes the gardening blog, Jean’s Garden.

This program will take place in person, in the Androscoggin Community Room.  No registration is required.  There is also an option to Zoom this class; for more information, visit https://laseniorcollege.org/.
