Learn about Alma Woodsey Thomas the first African American artist to have a solo art exhibit and had her artwork displayed three time in the White House. Brandon will read Alma's picture book biography called Ablaze with Color: A Story of Painter Alma Thomas by Jeanne Harvey. Afterwards, children and families can replicate Alma's art style of color and linear artwork. This program is best for children in 3rd through 6th grade. All art supplies will be provided. Please wear clothes that you are not afraid to get paint on!
