Event Details
Attendees will learn about the connection between oral health and total health as well as the unique oral health needs of older adults. The session will also include demonstration of an interactive website where they can learn more and will end with an experiential opportunity using mannequins and mouth models as we teach proper oral care.
Leonard Brennan, DMD is Co-Director of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Geriatric Fellowship Program and is a part-time lecturer in their Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology. Dr. Brennan has practiced general dentistry in Portland, Maine for more than thirty years.
Denise O’Connell, MSW, LCSW, CCM is the Associate Director of the Lunder-Dineen Health Education Alliance of Maine, a program of Massachusetts Hospital and The Peter L Slavin, MD Academy for Applied Learning in Health Care. She is a licensed clinical social worker and a certified case manager. She has been a principal with the Lunder-Dineen program since 2011.
